'We are extremely concerned by reports of military interference in the election process in Rivers State' - United Kingdom

The United Kingdom has expressed concern over reports of military interference in the governorship and state assembly elections in Rivers state that held on Saturday.

In a tweet via @UKinNigeria's verified handle, the high commission said officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must be allowed to do their job.  

The commission said it is monitoring the situation closely.
