A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy who was identified as Masudu Yushua was found dead after his body was recovered from a shallow well located at Danbare Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident, which occurred yesterday threw residents of the ward in confusion as many wondered whether the boy strayed into the well or he was thrown into it as punishment.
Confirming the death, spokesman for Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed stated that the incident occurred at about 11:39 a.m.
“We received a distress call in the early hours of Wednesday from one Malam Sani Maikaji , at about 11:39 am, that a boy had fallen inside a well.
On receiving the information, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene at about 11:45 a.m.
Yushua was found dead and his corpse later handed over to the ward head of Danbare, Alhaji Magaji Kasim,” he said.
