Kidnappers on Tuesday in Katsina freed Hajiya Lubabatu, the wife of Katsina State Deputy Accountant General, Sani Lawal Barkin- Kasua.
She was kidnapped last Wednesday by gunmen who stormed her husband’s Bahrain Housing Estate in Katsina State and demanded a ransom of N100m.
The spokesman for the Katsina police command, Superintendent Gambo Isah confirmed the development in a telephone chat with The Nation but offered no details.
He said, “Yes, she has been released’’
The Nation recalled that 10 unknown gunmen had stormed the residence of the Deputy Accountant General on Wednesday October 30th at about 9pm and whisked his wife away.
Hajia Lubabatu Sani Lawal had just returned to the state after performing the lesser Haji with some of her Children.
