Arsenal insiders have dismissed claims of replacing manager Unai Emery with Jose Mourinho.
The London Evening Standard says claims of a meeting between Mourinho and director Raul Sanllehi was not the case and the pair have in fact not spoken for years.
The Gunners hierarchy are minded to support Emery for the time being despite a run of just two wins in nine League games, the latest of which ended in a 1-1 draw against Wolves yesterday.
When asked whether his job was under threat, Emery, who succeeded Arsene Wenger as manager in the summer of 2018, said: “I am very demanding of myself. I feel every time my responsibility to work and to come back from the result with the next matches."
Mourinho has been out of work since being sacked by Manchester United in December last year. He has also been linked with the Real Madrid job should the Spanish giants part company with Zinedine Zidane.
