This man is being hunted by police after he allegedly swallowed a pair of earrings in a jewellery heist worth £13,000.

Police believe he put a set of 18 carat white gold diamond earrings and a second set of white gold earrings in his mouth. He also put a pair of rings onto his fingers before sneaking out of the shop at around 5pm in St Stephen’s Shopping Centre, Hull, on December 23.

Detectives are looking for a 5ft 5ins slim, black man, aged around 30, and with a shaved head. A police spokesman said: ‘More than £13,000 worth of items was stolen including a pair of 18 carat white gold diamond earrings, a pair of white gold earrings, a yellow 18 carat gold diamond ring, and a platinum diamond ring.

‘He put the rings on his fingers and it’s thought he swallowed the earrings before leaving the store. No one was hurt during the incident. ‘He was wearing a dark grey jacket with a furry hood, a long sleeved blue top, blue jeans and light grey trainers. He spoke with a southern accent.’
