Thierry Henry awards Premier League title to Liverpool after Leicester City thrashing, they are just ‘unstoppable’

Thierry Henry says it is only a matter of time before ‘unstoppable’ Liverpool secure their first Premier League title in 30 years after their stunning victory over Leicester City.

Jurgen Klopp’s league leaders smashed second-placed Leicester 4-0 on Boxing Day to move 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League. Roberto Firmino bagged a brace, James Milner scored from the spot and Trent Alexander-Arnold produced a superb strike as Liverpool dispatched Leicester and recorded their 17th win of the season.

Asked whether the title race is now over – with defending champions Manchester City now 14 points adrift of Liverpool – Arsenal legend Henry told Amazon Prime: ‘For me, yes. ‘It was always going to be a matter of when, they are unstoppable.

What they are doing is frightening. ‘Jurgen Klopp is never going to admit that but this team are on a mission. They’re not going to stop after tonight.

‘They will only party after the last game. It could have been 4-0 at half-time. He will say it’s not done and they need to keep on going but what they are doing is not normal. ‘I’m not a Liverpool fan but I like to see a team play like that. They create, they fight.’ Manchester City will try to reduce the gap to Liverpool to 11 points on Friday night when they visit Wolves.

Alexander-Arnold produced a brilliant performance against Leicester and another Arsenal hero, Lee Dixon, hailed his display at the King Power Stadium. He said: ‘The front three steal the headlines most of the time but the full-backs have taken this team to another level. ‘I’ve watched Alexander-Arnold a lot and he is just brilliant. Defensively he’s got so much better and he’ll run up and create chances all day long.’
