'I did my best, but it wasn't good enough tonight,' he said. 'I'm not sure what happened. I know that in training he did certain things, and I also knew that he didn't come in at 277 pounds to be a ballet dancer.

'He came to lean on me, try to rough me up and he succeeded.'

Reigning Boxing heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury has blasted Deontay Wilder after the Bronze Bomber refused to put their bad blood to bed following their third fight in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 9.

Fury won with an 11th-round knockout to make it two wins and a draw from their three fights, despite being knocked down twice in the fight's fourth round.

The Bronze Bomber had suffered a beating in the later rounds of the fight and was later taken to hospital for checks.

After his win, Fury, 33, says he tried to approach Deontay to shake him and hug him but Wilder refused with Fury calling Wilder a 'sore loser' for not showing any 'respect' for the champion.

Fury said: 'I said "well done, mate" and he said "I don't want to show any sportsmanship or respect." I said "No problem." I was very surprised. Sore loser. Idiot.'

Wilder repeatedly made excuses for his defeat in the pair's second meeting - and claimed he won the first fight despite the decision of the judges.

'I'm a sportsman,' Fury added in an interview on BT Sport. 'I went over to (Wilder to) show some love and respect and he didn't want to show it back. So I pray for him.'

The heavyweight world champion later said in his press conference: 'How can you say I've cheated when you know in your own heart and your whole team knows you got beat fair and square?

'It's a sore loser in boxing. He's not the first one and he won't be the last one. But I've acted like a gentleman throughout my career and that's all I can do as a man.'

Speaking from the ring on how the fight developed, Fury said: 'I was down a couple of times, I was hurt, Wilder is a strong puncher.

'It was a great fight tonight. I will not make any excuses, Wilder is a top fighter, he gave me a run for my money. I always say I am the best fighter in the world and he is the second best.

'Don't ever doubt me. When the chips are down I can always deliver.'

Tyson Fury's wife, Paris, has taken shots at Deontay Wilder after losing for a second time to her husband.

Wilder was stopped in the 11th round of a brutal trilogy fight in Las Vegas on Saturday as Fury retained the WBC heavyweight he had stripped the Bronze Bomber of in February 2020.

Speaking after her husband's victory, Paris told Wilder to retire  from the sport because the American is not good at boxing' and 'not tough enough.'

‘Clearly he (Wilder) is a tough man, but he’s not tough enough,’ Paris Fury told iFL TV after the fight.

The first fight in December 2018 ended in a controversial split draw, before the Gypsy King convincingly won the rematch in February 2020 and then retained his belt on Saturday.

Fury declared the 'Wilder saga is done now, done for good' after the trilogy fight and his wife agreed.

‘Three times now,' she said in reference to her husband's three encounters with the American.

'Maybe he (Wilder) will shut up now, go home and go to bed. I’ll be polite but we don’t want to hear that man’s name again.

‘Let him go and do something else, do something else that he’s good at. He’s not good at boxing clearly.’
