TV presenter Piers Morgan has admitted feeling that Meghan Markle is no longer "a fan" of his after their recent difficulties.

Writing in his latest newspaper column the outspoken journalist made reference to the Duchess of Sussex.

The former Good Morning Britain host was taking a walk down memory lane in his Daily Mail column with his self-titled All-Time Morgan Awards when he name-checked Meghan.

Referencing a tweet that he received in 2015 and has previously posted to his account in January 2020 he made the most of his opportunity to refer back to his former 'relationship' with the actress.

He wrote: "When I followed four cast members of U.S. TV legal drama Suits on Twitter, one of them sent me a private direct message minutes later.

"It read: ‘Well hello there — thanks for the follow. Big fan of yours!’

"Suffice it to say, I don’t think Meghan Markle remains quite such a big fan."

Piers has regularly criticised Meghan and Prince Harry in recent years, making his feelings about the couple no secret.

In March an on-air row with fellow presenter Alex Beresford about Meghan and Harry's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey led to Piers quitting his role at GMB.

A statement at the time of his departure read: "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.

"ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add."

The argument that lead to him quitting circled around the Duchess of Sussex'sclaims of suffering from poor mental health.

Piers later tweeted: "Freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on".

He added: “I’m off to spend more time with my opinions."

Piers has recently announced his new job with News UK.

He will front a new news show that will air in the US, UK and Australia.

Rupert Murdoch said of the role: "Piers is the broadcaster every channel wants but is too afraid to hire."
