The Princess of Wales is expected to make her return to public engagements in the coming weeks after taking time away from the spotlight after she underwent planned abdominal surgery.
While details about the return or any plans are understandably being kept under wraps after the bizarre and outlandish conspiracy theories questioning Kate's whereabouts, it will be a highly-anticipated comeback.
Even though the moment will possibly nerve-wracking for the Princess, a leading royal expert has offered her view on how the return should go and be managed by Kensington Palace.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK!: "I can’t honestly see that it’s going to take that much planning for her to return – hopefully gently – to public life."
The expert continued: "I suppose it’s possible that we might see her go to St George’s with the rest of the family on Easter Sunday. It’s not exactly a public engagement but would mean her being seen officially in public. More likely, we will see her beginning her official engagements after the school holidays.
"Personally, I think a soft landing would be visiting something to do with her early years development projects. Children don’t judge and probably wouldn’t ask too many personal questions. And it is a cause that is so close to the princess’s heart.
"I think something with children would be the kindest way for her to resume life as a working royal. And then her team should be careful not to overload her diary in the early weeks and months."
The Princess of Wales is highly regarded for her interests in physical wellbeing, children's development and mental health. And, as a result, she has already made a name for herself for her impressive work in the field of Early Childhood.
In 2021, Kate launched The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood and set up the successful 'Big 5' survey which helped us to learn about the first five years of a child's life.
And, 12 months ago, she pushed her work even further and set up Shaping Us, an awareness campaign dedicated to spotlighting the importance of early childhood. As well as this, the Princess has spent more than a decade examining how social challenges such as addiction, mental health and homelessness shape someone as they grow up.
Stepping out in January 2023 to launch Shaping Us, Kate declared “it is more important than ever” to support the development of young children.
The princess said: “The way we develop, through our experiences, relationships and surroundings during our early childhood, fundamentally shapes our whole lives. It affects everything from our ability to form relationships and thrive at work, to our mental and physical wellbeing as adults and the way we parent our own children.
"These are the most preventive years. By focusing our collective time, energy and resources to build a supportive, nurturing world around the youngest members of our society and those caring for them, we can make a huge difference to the health and happiness of generations to come.”
