A Kate Middleton lookalike has spoken out after royal fans became convinced she had appeared in footage with Prince William in the Princess' place.
The Princess of Wales appeared to be easing herself back into ordinary life after she underwent abdominal surgery back in January. Kate was filmed with husband Prince William visiting her favourite farm shop in Windsor on Saturday (March 16), the Daily Star previously reported.
However, some conspiracy theorists suggested the woman in the video was in fact Heidi Agan, who has impersonated the future queen for 12 years. But the professional impersonator has now shut down the claims, reports The Mirror.
"My own social media has gone crazy as people think it is me, but I know it is not," she said. "I was at work at the time so I know that is not me. I 100 per cent believe that is Kate Middleton and William in that video.
The 43-year-old has now shown her support for the Princess, who is expected to return to royal duties full-time after Easter. She added the last few months of work have been challenging thanks to crazy speculation over Kate's whereabouts.
"Since Kate has surgery, I have done gigs where I have walked in and people have said: 'There's Kate,' so it started as a joke around 'we've found Kate' but now it should stop really," she added.
Heidi performs alongside colleagues who impersonate Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. There are even lookalikes of the family's dogs and hamster and the group's work takes them all over the world.
Heidi's comments come after the future Queen was rocked by a Photoshop scandal. A photo released by Kensington Palace on Mother's Day contained obvious signs of editing as internet sleuths spotted Princess Charlotte's sleeve looked suspicious and Prince Louis' fingers were held at an awkward angle.
Kate later confessed to editing the photo. She said in a statement: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.
"I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C."
