Meghan Markle is known for her love of highly sentimental outfits, as well as personalised jewellery. And her most recent appearance in the US appears to be a secret nod to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were visiting Austin, where Meghan hosted a panel ‘Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen’ during the 2024 SXSW Conference on March 8. In the hours afterwards, it emerged the couple had used the opportunity to visit a charity initiative in the area.

According to the Archewell site, the couple visited The Archewell Foundation’s San Antonio Welcome Project, which supports the creation of programming for women who have recently resettled from Afghanistan. Meghan and Harry joined the women as they worked on their projects and learned about the newfound joy and creativity they have fostered with one another.

The day concluded with a homecooked meal, where The Duchess, who has often spoken of her love for cooking, joined in making bolani, a traditional Afghan flat bread.

For the visit, Meghan opted to wear a $368 Diana jacket from the American brand Favorite Daughter. The outfit was seemingly a nod to the Duchess' late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

Elsewhere during the visit, Meghan Markle opened up about being cyber-bullied while pregnant with her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The Duchess had a discussion on ‘how women lead on and off screen’ at a film festival panel at South by Southwest festival in Austin alongside A-lister actress Brooke Shields last night. Speaking to Shields and journalist Katie Couric during the discussion, she described the experience has ‘hateful’.

‘I keep my distance from it right now for my wellbeing but the bulk of the bullying and abuse I was experiencing in social media and online was when I was pregnant with Archie and with Lili, and with a newborn, with each of them,’ she said.

‘You just think about that and to wrap your head about why people would be so hateful. It's not catty it’s cruel. Why you would do that when you're pregnant or as a mom it's such a tender and sacred time.’

It comes as insiders claimed Meghan is preparing for relaunch in the UK. According to MailOnline, the former actress is looking for professional help to gain more positive publicity in Britain for herself and her charity foundation, Archewell.
