Meghan Markle has been accused of leaking her travel itinerary for her trip to Nigeria to a squad, who allegedly sold the information to tabloids for profit. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have recently shared additional details about their upcoming visit to Nigeria scheduled for this month. Their arrival in the African nation is planned for Friday, and their first stop will be a school. Following that, they will meet with the chief of Defense staff and visit injured service personnel at a hospital during the afternoon on Saturday.

On Saturday, the royal couple is set to attend a training session for Nigeria Unconquered, along with a reception honoring military families. Additionally, Meghan will co-host an event focused on women in leadership, alongside Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization. The final day of their visit, which is Sunday, will involve attending a basketball clinic organized by Giants of Africa, followed by a cultural reception. The concluding engagement will be attending an Apollo fundraiser for Nigeria Unconquered.

Reports suggest that Meghan's team might be responsible for leaking the couple's travel plans. This has sparked discussions about how Harry and Meghan's dedicated fan base, known as the Sussex Squad, always seem to have knowledge of their travel itineraries. Critics and experts have criticized the couple for expressing concerns about their security while seemingly sharing their entire itinerary with their fan base.

Some commentators questioned the couple's decision, pointing out that sharing travel details on social media might compromise their safety. Others speculated that the trip might not unfold as smoothly as Harry and Meghan anticipate, suggesting that they might face unwelcome situations. Furthermore, Harry's security arrangements have changed, and he now relies on bespoke arrangements rather than automatic police protection. The decision regarding police security upon his return will be determined by the home office.

In February 2024, Harry's legal challenge against the removal of automatic security was denied in the high court, and his request to appeal the decision was also rejected. However, Harry's legal team intends to seek permission from the court of appeal to challenge the ruling made by Mr. Justice Lane. The judge, who deemed the decision legally sound, ordered Harry to pay 90% of the home office's legal costs. Despite these setbacks, Harry remains determined to fight for police security, as he believes the threat level against him and his family persists. His legal team has highlighted that former politicians continue to receive police protection even after leaving public office.
