On May 21st, Prince William stepped in to host a garden party at Bingham Palace on behalf of his father, King Charles. The Prince of Wales looked dapper in a morning suit and top hat as he carried out the hosting duties.
Meanwhile, his wife, Katherine the Princess of Wales, continued to remain out of the public eye as she underwent cancer treatment.
To help with the afternoon festivities, Prince William invited some of his cousins. Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Peter Phillips, and Zara Tindall joined the Prince in a rare joint outing, highlighting the next generation of the royal family. Eugenie and Zara coordinated in pink and white ensembles, while Peter and Mike Tindall rocked top hats with their suits.
While the Queen's grandchildren are often seen together at family events like Christmas, they are not working members of the royal family. Instead, they hold their own jobs while supporting charitable causes.
Not in attendance were the two youngest cousins, 20-year-old Lady Louise and 16-year-old James, Earl of Wessex. The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Queen's first cousin, also attended the garden party.
Though Eugenie remains on good terms with Harry and Meghan Markle, the princesses have seemingly cut ties with the Duke of Sussex, avoiding his Invictus Games service in London earlier this month.
Some royal commentators speculate that Eugenie could act as a peacemaker between Harry and the rest of the family, given her close relationships on both sides. However, it remains to be seen whether she can help bridge the divide between the brothers.
