Meghan Markle has reportedly become “almost the breadwinner” in her marriage to Prince Harry.
This power shift could weigh on the couple financially, leading to marital discord in the next “three to five years,” states a royal commentator.
In an interview with Talk TV‘s Kevin Sullivan, commentator Samara Gill shared her projected outlook for Meghan and Harry’s marriage. She believes their union will end, and the main reason will be money.
“I’m gonna call it. It’s going to be divorce in the next three to five years,” Gill claims.
The commentator believes that Harry’s earning potential may come behind Meghan’s in the coming years, which could cause strife between the couple. Gill believes, “When the money pot starts to dry up, that’s when people like Meghan jump to the next option.”
Gill claims, “I think she is almost the breadwinner of the family. And that’s weighing on her.”
Since leaving the royal family’s financial support behind, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made several multimillion-dollar deals together. These deals began in 2020 when the couple signed with Netflix for a reported $100M to produce content for the streamer.
That same year, Meghan and Harry signed with music streaming giant Spotify for $20M in an exclusive partnership with Archewell Audio. Meghan also invested in Clevr Blends, a coffee company. In 2021, Harry was announced as the chief impact officer of the wellness startup BetterUp.
However, in 2023, Harry and Meghan began splitting themselves professionally. In January, Harry released his autobiography Spare. Meghan signed with William Morris Endeavor for projects outside of acting.
Most recently, it’s Meghan who has the most viable option for success as an earner in her household. There’s reportedly great promise for her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, in March 2024. The website doesn’t offer information on when it will officially launch.
