Liverpool are reportedly monitoring RB Leipzig defender Mohamed Simakan as Arne Slot looks to shore up his defence.
WHAT HAPPENED?
According to Sky Sports journalist Philipp Hinze, the Reds continue to hold interest in Simakan as they aim to find a replacement for Joel Matip before the transfer window draws to a close. Although their interest is not "advanced or concrete", they do have Simakan on their shortlist.
However, Liverpool might not have a free run at Simakan with Serie A giants Juventus also keeping an "eye on the Frenchman". Nonetheless, Simakan might stay put if the offer does not meet his expectations. At the same time, he remains eager for a fresh challenge after spending three years at Leipzig since he joined in 2021 from Strasbourg on a six-year contract.
