According to Fabrizio Romano, the 19-year-old forward, who recently left the Hammers upon the expiry of his contract, has caught the eye of City scouts, who are eager to bring him to the Etihad Stadium as a free agent. The England U20 international was released after the club failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension. Mubama's departure marked the end of a long-standing relationship with the London club, where he had been honing his skills since joining their youth ranks.

Romano reported that the Citizens have hijacked negotiations that Mubama was having with Lyon and Famalicao, and are now on the verge of securing his signature.
