Five people were found shot dead in a “tragic scene” of apparent domestic violence at a home in a tiny town in Washington state early Monday, according to a report.
Cops made the grim discovery after responding to multiple 911 calls of a shooting at the house in Fall City on the outskirts of Seattle just before 5 a.m., King5 reported.
The gunman – reported to be a “brother” – apparently tried to hang himself after opening fire on his relatives, multiple sources told KIRO 7.
It wasn’t clear if the shooter was among the dead.
When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found some people who had called 911 holed inside a bathroom, sources said.
Authorities haven’t said publicly how many bodies were found at the property or how many others might have been injured.
A neighbor with medical experience was found helping to treat one the injured when first responders arrived.
King County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Mellis only said authorities encountered a “tragic scene” and that they are probing multiple homicides.
He added that the murders were possibly tied to a domestic violence incident and that there was no ongoing threat to the community.
“I can say that it’s going to be really a tragic event for the community, for anybody who has any connection out here,” he said. “It’s going to affect a lot of people.”
The investigation, which the sheriff’s office described as “massive,” was still ongoing, and other agencies had been called in to help.
“That implies that this is a significant scene that is going to take a lot of expertise, a lot of time,” Mellis said.
Authorities said there was no history of prior calls to the home.
Fall City, about 30 miles outside Seattle, is a riverside town with a population of roughly 2,000.
