Boxing fans on social media reckon they have worked out Jake Paul and Mike Tyson's fight was 'fixed'.
The YouTube star turned fighter faced off against the legendary boxer at AT&T Stadium last weekend, with Paul coming out the victor by unanimous decision. While there was plenty of hype around proceedings in Dallas, the actual fight itself left much to be desired.
Because of the massive age gap, fans were left talking about how they thought if Paul wanted to, he could have knocked Tyson out. And they have also claimed there was a moment Paul signalled for Tyson to take it easy on him.
During the fight, Tyson, who only managed to land 18 punches, delivered a blow to Paul's chin. While it did not look to have bothered Paul that much, fans on social media reckon his reaction, which saw him stick out his tongue, was a clear signal for Tyson to take it easy on him.
On fan commented on X: "Jake Paul signalling for Mike to take it easy." And it prompted widespread discussion online about the veracity of the fight.
"58 or not i dont believe tyson put everything in that punch," replied another fan. A second added: "This was the most staged fight I’ve ever seen." A third said: "Yup staged as f***. Even at 58 years old Tyson is a monster. If Tyson went 100% all in Jake would be dead."
A second added: "He’s literally signalling that the weak punch did not affect him. This is commonly known as a “taunt”." And a third said: "Weird because Jake does this in every fight."
Speaking after the fight, Paul claimed he didn't want to hurt Tyson by knocking him out. Paul said: "I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn't want to hurt someone that didn't need to be hurt."
