When it comes to performance costumes, Blue Ivy Carter is part of the creative process.
BeyoncĂ©’s go-to stylist, Shiona Turini revealed to Harper’s Bazaar in a new interview that the 12 year old gets the final say for her on-stage outfits.
Such was the case for Carter’s appearance in her mom’s halftime performance during the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game on Christmas.

Carter donned the Western-inspired ensemble with a white cowboy hat from Stetson, Akira boots ($99 $50) and a bedazzled necklace.
“You can play around with her options because she will be different from anyone else, no matter what,” the celebrity stylist and costume designer told the publication about Blue’s concert outfits.
For the “BeyoncĂ© Bowl,” as the 13-minute Netflix performance was dubbed, they wanted the Houston native and her eldest daughter to have some connection with their looks.

As such, the mother-daughter duo wore matching blinged-out buffalo-shaped belt buckles, designed by Frolov.

Turini added, “With Blue, we get to have a lot of fun because it’s just one independent special costume, and ultimately she makes the final choice.”
“I was happy that she chose that, and I think she looked great,” she concluded.

Only 11 at the time, Carter joined BeyoncĂ©’s Renaissance World Tour in 2023, where she spent her summer vacation dancing alongside her mom.
During the concerts, Bey’s mini-me made cameos in a slew of memorable costumes, often matching with the Grammy-winning musician, of course.
And the pair recently twinned again at the red carpet premiere of “Mufasa” in gilded gold gowns to celebrate their joint appearance in the live-action Disney movie.
We can’t wait to see what else Blue has in store.
