Did Duchess Sophie Wear Meghan Markle's Iconic Jewelry or is it just a honest resemblance?

Meghan Markle's Royal Heirloom Sparks Frenzy After Duchess Sophie Wears It

Royal fans were left buzzing when Duchess Sophie made a surprising appearance wearing what looked like Meghan Markle's iconic royal heirloom.

The accessory in question is the stunning cushion-cut diamond ring that Prince Harry gave to Meghan Markle during their engagement in 2017. The ring features precious gems from the late Princess Diana’s personal collection—an heirloom passed down to both Prince William and Prince Harry.

Meghan and Kate Middleton have both been spotted wearing several pieces from Diana’s jewelry collection over the years, with Meghan’s dazzling aquamarine ring being one of the most memorable. She first debuted the ring at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s reception, and it has since become a signature piece of her collection.

However, things took an unexpected turn when Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh (formerly known as the Countess of Wessex) was seen wearing a very similar ring at the 2018 Royal Ascot, sparking confusion among royal fans.

Diamond expert Maxwell Stone quickly weighed in, dismissing claims that the ring was Meghan’s aquamarine. He clarified that while the two rings share a striking resemblance, they are not the same.

Duchess Sophie Stuns Public by Wearing Meghan Markle's Iconic Jewelry!

In 1996, Princess Diana’s close friend, Lucia Flecha de Lima, gifted her a distinctive cocktail ring, made by Asprey. That piece now belongs to Meghan Markle. In contrast, Sophie’s ring is believed to have been created by Collins and Sons. According to Stone, Sophie’s ring features a remarkable 20-carat aquamarine set in platinum, and he estimates its value at approximately £80,000 ($99,000).

As for Meghan’s ring, Stone described it as having a large emerald-cut aquamarine stone set in 24-carat yellow gold, flanked by two small solitaire diamonds. He values Meghan’s iconic piece at around £85,000 ($105,000).

Despite the similarities, the two rings are distinct, each holding its own place in royal history.
