Once again, Meghan Markle has been “caught” by paparazzi stepping off a private jet. What are the chances? Almost as slim as her ever being genuinely caught off guard by a camera. Fresh off her whirlwind five-day “supportive wife” tour at the Invictus Games in Canada, Meghan arrived back in California looking windswept—which, let’s be honest, is just a polite way of saying slightly disheveled.  

Of course, this grand arrival was dutifully captured by none other than Backgrid, the go-to agency for staged celebrity photos. Because nothing screams “I value my privacy” like hiring the world’s most obvious paparazzi service to snap a few “totally candid” pictures. According to sources close to the couple (translation: Meghan’s PR team), this was all pre-planned.  

Meghan was reportedly only supposed to stay in Canada for five days before returning home to Montecito to be with Archie and Lilibet—who, if we’re being real, are still more mythical than public figures at this point. She later confirmed on Instagram that she was cheering Harry on from home. But let’s be honest, the real highlight of her post wasn’t the Invictus Games or the athletes. It was the carefully placed, unopened gifts for her children in the background. Nothing says “super involved mom” like strategically positioning presents in the shot to prove you remembered to bring them something. Did she get them jerseys from the Nigerian team? Sure. Did she buy them with her own money? Unlikely. The IG chocolates and donut bites? Probably for her.  

Now, let’s talk about the most baffling part of this entire airport spectacle: the sheer amount of luggage. Meghan had *eight* pieces of luggage, a coat, and a bunch of shopping bags offloaded from the plane—for a five-day trip. Either she was moving to Canada or she was just trying to make an impression. And honestly, what exactly was in those bags? She wore six new coats in five days—three puffer coats and three dress coats—despite living in California. One puffer and one dress coat would have sufficed, unless the goal was to remind everyone she’s still in her designer era.  

Then there’s the private jet itself. Who paid for it? Renting one of these isn’t exactly pocket change, yet here she is stepping off as if she footed the bill herself. Meanwhile, many of the athletes competing at the Invictus Games—some of whom have literally lost limbs in service—are likely funding their participation out of pocket. But sure, let’s keep focusing on Meghan’s “oh-so-sacrificial” decision to return to her invisible children.  

Another curious detail: the plane’s registration number was mysteriously photoshopped out of the background images. Why would anyone do that? Could it be that Meghan doesn’t want people tracking who owns the plane she was flying in? Considering her history of leaning on the rich and famous, it’s not hard to connect the dots. If history has taught us anything, it’s that she and Harry aren’t exactly known for paying their own way.  

Let’s face it: this entire setup was as predictable as it was cringeworthy. Meghan loves a good “caught-in-the-moment” airport shot, especially when it involves private jets, designer luggage, and an outfit that looks curated just enough to seem effortless. The only thing missing was a fake shocked expression as she “realizes” cameras are rolling while she parades around with shopping bags and luggage.  

The wounded athletes competing at the Invictus Games have barely received a fraction of the attention Meghan commands. Her “cheering on from home” post was about as personal as a mass email—no direct mentions of the athletes, no promotion of the games themselves. Just a subtle flex about being an involved mother without actually involving the children.  

The only thing more staged than her airport arrival? The idea that this woman does anything without a plan.
