Taylor Swift fans are used to seeing the Grammy winner dolled up on a red carpet or celebrity event, so they seemed to have a hard time seeing the singer embrace a more casual look in her time off.

Swift fans, who were perplexed that the singer and her boyfriend Travis Kelce enjoyed a low key night in New York City on Saturday night, were confused by their understated style.

Swift, 35, showed off her toned legs in a casual chic look consisting of an oversize gray blazer over a short skirt.

Her long, blonde hair was styled straight. 

Kelce, 36, looked relaxes in an unbuttoned gray shirt over a white T-shirt with a pair of jeans.

The NFL star has let his hair grow a bit longer since the Super Bowl and sported a full beard and wore dark framed glasses.

Photos first shared on the Deux Moi Instagram page saw a variety of reactions, including some negative comments about the Grammy winner's hair. 

'Not Taylor's hair looking like all of us in middle school not knowing how to straighten the back,' one critic commented.

'His hair looks healthier than hers,' another quipped. 

That was not the only comment about Kelce's hair from the Swifties. 

'His hair is terrible,' was a common thread among the nitpickers.

A few liked his new look. 'Kelce in his hot professor era' wrote a fan. 

'He looks like how my brother used to dress in middle school in the early 2000s,' said one. 

Another went back to the 1990s, exclaiming, 'Travis is dressed like Josh from Clueless,' referring to the Paul Rudd character in the 1995 romantic comedy 

Fans made derogatory comments about the Grammy winner's hair after seeing photos of the two in NYC

One fan was upset the Shake It Off singer had not completely straightened her naturally curly hair while other said that the NFL star's hair 'looks healthier than hers'

Not everyone hated Kelce's longer hair and dark framed glasses. A fan compared his look to that of a 'hot professor'

Some fans felt closer to the couple, knowing they had gone to a restaurant they were familiar with. 'A chain restaurant. We love to see it,' wrote one.   'She's just like me,' stated another

Others were curious about what they ordered. 'I wonder if they got the cheeseburger egg rolls?' asked on curios onlooker. 'I wonder if she gets the seafood tower,' queried another

The outing made one fan feel closer to the superstar

The couple's decision to go in through the kitchen rather than through the front of Del Frisco's Grille was also a topic of discussion. 

'I would lose my appetite if I always had to enter through the garbage alley,' claimed a fan.

Others were just happy the pair were doing something they could relate to. 

'A chain restaurant. We love to see it,' said one. Someone else said it was great marketing for Del Frisco's.
