More than a few eyebrows were raised on Tuesday when Justin Bieber made the shocking revelation that he'd once told his wife Hailey during a fight that she'd 'never be on the cover of Vogue'.
His brazen confession, penned on Instagram, was certainly an odd way for the singer, 31, to congratulate the model, 28, on her massive achievement: gracing the cover of the fashion bible... that very day!
For Hailey, the covershoot - surely the pinnacle of success for any professional model - comes after over a decade of hard graft (she entered the industry at the wee age of 14).
But, according to a source close to the pair, Hailey has become accustomed to such behavior.

'Justin and Hailey get into fights, and Justin goes for the low hanging fruit to try to win arguments, to make Hailey feel bad, and it works,' the insider exclusively told the Daily Mail.
'As much as they are in love, there are plenty of times that they are at each other's throats. Hailey has been mad at him plenty of times, and it will happen again and again. She comes around and forgives him.
'She will let him do what he needs to do and will accept his apology. The Justin we see now is the Justin that Hailey has seen all along, and she feels like she can always fix him. Good or bad, it is a never ending circle.'
In fact, the insider insisted, this turbulence is central to their romance.
'Justin and Hailey treat their relationship like Romeo and Juliet - without the morbid ending. They love hard, they fight hard, and drama often fuels their every move,' the insider said.

Be that as it may, it won't be lost on fans that Justin's bizarre disclosure marks just the latest incident in a string of ugly outburts.
Ever since the singer became a father in August last year - when Hailey gave birth to son Jack Blues - and in tandem with the arrest of his former musical mentor Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Justin has be suffering what many have described as a public 'breakdown'.
In March, he turned once again to Instagram, writing: 'I personally have always felt unworthy. Like I was a fraud. Like when people told me I deserve something, it made me feel sneaky like, damn if they only knew my thoughts.'
Last week, as Diddy's sex trafficking trial got underway in New York, a spokesperson for Bieber said: 'Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him. Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.'
