A full video is making the rounds online that shows how 14-year-old WAEC student was killed by a policeman in Ibadan today, May 20th 2025 while going for the exam.

Reports has it that the boy was inside his father’s car with his twin brother going for WAEC this morning when the bullet hit him and by extension was rushed to Welfare Hospital but was declared dead on arrival (DOA).

Reacting to the incident, the Oyo State Government clarified that, contrary to reports claiming the police were chasing a suspected internet fraudster, the event actually occurred during a routine traffic enforcement operation by officials of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA).

According to the government, the father of the deceased was driving a black, tinted Honda Accord with plate number FST 639 JU and had violated traffic rules around 7:30 a.m.

During the attempt to apprehend the driver, a policeman—now under investigation by the Oyo State Police Command—allegedly fired a shot aimed at the vehicle’s tyre, but the bullet missed its mark.
