A royal expert has revealed why Prince Harry may have gone 'too far' and 'invaded his father's privacy' by discussing his health in a bombshell interview last week.
Speaking to the BBC after he lost a court appeal over his security arrangements on May 2, the Duke of Sussex launched a blistering attack on the King.
He complained that his father 'won't speak to him' and that he doesn't know 'how much longer he has left'.
Prince Harry also revealed he will not bring his wife or children back to the UK - and said he had had 'so many disagreements' with his family, some of whom 'may never forgive' him for writing a book.
The comments on King Charles's health are thought in particular to have raised eyebrows behind palace doors - given his treatment for cancer remains ongoing.
'When the court ruling didn't go his way, he was, in his own words 'gutted and devastated'.
'And he was clearly seething with fury. And that is rarely the best time to air your thoughts.'

She added that she thinks Harry has now lost the support of the 'majority of the British public'.
The Duke had been pursuing a case through the British courts after his level of security changed when he and Meghan stepped down as working royals.
However last Friday, Sir Geoffrey Vos, the Master of the Rolls, told Prince Harry his 'grievance' over downgraded security had not 'translated into a legal argument'.
And he ruled the original security decision had been a 'predictable' and even 'sensible' reaction to Megxit – when Harry and Meghan stepped back from being senior royals and left Britain.
The Duke, who claimed to be the victim of an 'establishment stitch-up', has now been put on the hook to pay £1.5million in legal costs after losing the case.
The decision to downgrade Harry's security was made by the Home Office's Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec).
Harry believes he has been 'singled out' and 'badly treated' for 'unjustified, inferior treatment' since Megxit five years ago.
His barrister argued that the removal of Met Police armed bodyguards when he is in the UK has left the royal's life 'at stake'.
'The conditions of my security were not based on threat, risk and impact, they were made based on my role - one that my wife and I wanted to maintain but was ultimately refused,' he said.
He added: 'This all comes from the same institutions that preyed upon my mother, that openly campaigned for the removal of our security, and continue to incite hatred towards me, my wife and even our children.'

Meghan dances the night away at Beyonce concert - as Prince Harry awkwardly shuffles in a cowboy hat

It comes as Harry was caught during his visit to London last month knocking on the wrong door while searching for a friend's home in London.
A snap captured by a Ring doorbell shows the prince talking on the phone as he stands at a door.
One resident said that their housekeeper had answered the door for Harry, but had not recognised him, The Sun reported.
'We were shocked to see it was him on the camera. We only really noticed once neighbours started talking,' they said.
Neighbours were left baffled at the royal sighting, with many finding it 'odd' that the prince did not know where he was going.
'I don't think many people would just walk down a road knocking on doors, let alone if you don't feel safe,' one neighbour said.
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were last night spotted enjoying the fifth night of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour in California.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were among thousands of fans who crowded into the SoFi Stadium yesterday as the artist performed her last show in Los Angeles before heading to Chicago.
Afterwards, Beyoncé shared a photograph of the royals on her website, capturing the grinning couple as they cosied up inside the luxurious VIP lounge.
Fans also snuck clips of Prince Harry from nearby seats, with the Duke of Sussex seen somewhat awkwardly shuffling around as his wife danced in front of him.
Both the Duke and Duchess were dressed to theme for the Cowboy Carter Tour, with Harry donning a dark green, wide rimmed hat, dark jeans and casual grey jacket.
Meghan dressed up in a tight-fitting denim dress, which she wore off-the-shoulder.
She wore her hair up for the night, and was later spotted wearing her husband's hat as the concert amped up with a remixed rendition of Texas Hold 'Em.
