There are times when sucking as much meaning as I can out of the most recent photograph of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce to hit social media makes me feel vaguely insane (or, more positively, like a Cold War-era Kremlinologist working overtime to gather as much hidden data as I can about the Soviet Union from a single picture), but when I saw the ‘loved-up couple’—in Daily Mail parlance—out and about in Philadelphia with Kelce's family for Mother's Day, I was instantly struck by one thing: their hair.
Travis Kelce hasn’t been seen much since the Super Bowl ended in February, but the tight end reappeared on Monday looking a bit different.
Kelce looked lean and mean while talking onstage at the Amazon Upfront Presentation alongside his brother, retired Eagles center Jason Kelce.
Kelce, 35, rocked a suit and T-shirt combination while standing alongside his older brother, who donned a similar outfit.
A Chiefs fan account reported that Kelce is down 25 pounds this offseason, which would put him in the 225 range if based on his NFL.com profile that lists his weight as 250.
“I’m coming back for sure. Gonna try to get into the best shape I’ve been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop,” Kelce wrote in a text to ESPN’s Pat McAfee earlier this year. “Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and with how I got the guys ready for battle. I can’t go out like that!!!!” If this really becomes Kelce’s final season, he’s looking to go out on top.”
Kelce brought in 97 receptions for the Chiefs last regular season, accumulating 823 yards and three touchdowns in his worst season since 2015.
Aside from his weekly “New Heights” podcast appearances, Kelce has mostly stayed out of the spotlight with Swift, 35.
Swift and Kelce have been dating since 2023.
