A new video is making the rounds online that shows the moment President son Seyi Tinubu was bounced from greeting Pope Leo XIV in Rome.

Accompanying his father, President Bola Tinubu, Nigeria’s first son, Seyi Tinubu, was denied the opportunity to shake hands with the newly elected Pope Leo XIV during a visit to the Vatican.

Seyi could only observe as the Pope extended the courtesy exclusively to his father.

As two senior clerics escorted President Bola Tinubu to greet the newly elected pontiff, a protocol official intervened to prevent his son, Seyi Tinubu, from getting close enough for a handshake with the Pope.

President Tinubu was among several world leaders invited to attend the solemn mass marking the start of the Pontificate of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, the 267th Bishop of Rome and new head of the Roman Catholic Church.
