Meghan Markle has experienced a significant decline in popularity in the UK, according to the most recent YouGov poll. Her favorability rating has fallen to its lowest point since polling began in 2017.

The intention behind these projects was clearly to reshape public perception and perhaps reduce some of the backlash surrounding her and Prince Harry. However, the strategy doesn’t seem to be gaining traction—at least not in the UK. The British public remains largely unmoved, with older generations being particularly unfavorable. Among those aged 65 and older, a staggering 86% report a negative view of Meghan. Prince Harry hasn’t fared much better. Only 27% of respondents view him in a positive light, while 63% do not, leaving him with a net approval of -36. He appears to resonate more with younger demographics, which could be attributed to his appeal to youth culture or recent public engagements.
Their struggle underscores how difficult it can be to overcome a negative public image. Once public perception hardens, shifting it becomes a slow and uncertain process. Media narratives can be relentless, and rebuilding trust often requires time, consistency, and a genuine connection with the audience. Whether Meghan and Harry can eventually reclaim public favor or will remain on the margins of the royal narrative remains to be seen.
