CELEBRATING TALENT: 5 Breakthrough Songs Of Wande Coal

Wande Coal, also known as Black Diamond, is one asset in Nigeria music industry Nigerians are super proud to call theirs. This is not just for his melanin that never stops popping, but his voice that is nothing short of beautiful, pure and original.

On this post, we are throwing it back to some of the songs that brought Wande Coal to the limelight and others that kept him there. Those songs that made us love him and of course made his name stuck in our minds. Let’s go there!

So let’s go there!

Bumper2Bumper:  This song was a defining song for Wande Coal and for an artiste that just started the game, he went from upcoming to ‘I’ve arrived’ in just one hit.  This 2008 banger is what you call a ‘back to back’ hit and will certainly still raise the roof if played anywhere. Is that also true for you?
You Bad: “See this lepa lepa to bad o”… a lot of guys certainly used this line to woe their favorite chic in 2008 as the song was a banger that can still rock your party. Released in 2008 under Mo’Hit record label, Wande Coal killed this song with his melodious voice, from singing to subtle rap, Wande showed us he was really bad.

Who Born The Maga: This song was really loved as it showed the rising artiste daring haters to put a dent to his bright future. The chorus explains it all;
“as God don change my water to wine

you wan come change am back to water

wey the person wey dey think say he fit stop my shine

for your mind now i don turn to butter

na who born na who born na who born the maga”

It was a song everyone loved, with great content, it passed a message to everyone’s enemy and one way or the other, we all have enemy or frenemy that needs to be reminded they can do nada and Wande gave us the perfect words to use.
Rotate: W.C!!! Where do you like hearing these laters rather than the beginning of Wande Coal’s ‘Rotate‘?. This 2013 release featured another record label boss, Don Jazzy, who gave vocals to spice up the track.  This throwback is although four years old, it still sounds fresh every time it comes up.
Ashimapeyin: No way this list would be complete without giving us the song that introduced Iskaba to us. Although Iskaba was officially released as a track in 2016, Wande Coal has been introducing us to that word since 2014 when Ashimapeyin was released under the stables of his records, Black Diamonds. This song was a hit and like “Who Born The Maga” it is directed at another negative group, this time, probably not an enemy, but someone who wouldn’t mind their business and Wande is simply telling them to calm down, the time for them to be intrusive is not yet here, that time is coming, but this time is not the right time. Everyone loves this song and permit us to say it has that chance of being a classic considering how timeless classic is, and this song is just that… it is timeless because there are always nosy people around you that’ll be all up on your business… Just give them hope that their time to be intrusive is coming, but not now.
That’s all we are taking for today on our throwback on Wande Coal’s oldies that are still goldies.We know he has a lot of throwback hits, but we can’t take all, so tell us which is your favorite oldies from Wande.
