Prince Harry is tossing and turning at night over his impending trip to the UK, according to a royal expert.
Harry is said to be having "sleepless nights" in the lead up to celebrations marking a decade of the Invictus Games, with plans to attend a commemorative service at St. Paul's Cathedral on May 8.
While Meghan Markle usually stands by her man during Invictus events, it is up in the air whether she will make the journey across the pond, the Mirror reports.
Royal commentator and writer Tom Quinn reckons it could be a tricky trip for Harry. He said: "Harry and Meghan are having sleepless nights about what they should do when Harry visits the UK later this year he will have to do something to acknowledge the huge difficulties his family is going through, but he won't want to do or say anything that seems to imply anything less than wholehearted support for his permanently aggrieved wife."
When Harry last set foot on British soil, it was for a fleeting visit to his dad King Charles after learning of his cancer diagnosis. Meghan, however, chose to remain in Montecito, California, with their two children - Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The visit, rumoured to have lasted all of 12 minutes, notably did not include a catch-up with his brother Prince William or his wife, Princess Kate. Now, with news of Kate's own cancer diagnosis, Harry finds himself in a debacle.
"Harry would love to patch things up with his sister-in-law and with his brother and father," Quinn added. "He sees things far more calmly now he has had his say in Spare and in various interviews, but he just cannot think how to do it and keep Meghan happy."
The royal expert insists Kate "definitely doesn't want an apology" as a peace offering from Meghan. However, Meghan herself perceives the family spat quite differently, he added.
The relationship between the pair has been under intense scrutiny since their tiff was detailed in Prince Harry's explosive memoir Spare. In it, Harry shared an incident where he found Meghan sobbing "on the floor" after a kerfuffle with Kate over bridesmaid dresses.
"Kate definitely doesn't want an apology, but Meghan definitely does," Quinn stated. "William just thinks the whole thing is a storm in a teacup and can't understand why his brother can't get over the sort of spat that many brothers have to go through.
"Meghan and Harry feel hurt by the way they were treated when they were working members of the Royal Family and William and Kate feel they were treated poorly once Harry and Meghan left and Harry published Spare."
