Meghan Markle Denied Dance at Reception in Nigeria: Cultural Misunderstanding or Royal Protocol?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended a reception held at the defense headquarters officers mess in Abuja, honoring military families and the Widow Association. On May 11th, while reports circulated about King Charles allegedly missing an opportunity to meet with his son during Harry's brief visit to the UK, the composed couple stood for the rendition of "God Save the King." The Sussexes stood in a dignified manner, gazing straight ahead, as the British national anthem echoed through the venue. Military personnel paid their respects by saluting in the presence of Christopher Muza, the Ian Chief of Defense Staff.

Fans of the royal family expressed their views on the awkward moment when Harry and Meghan stood for the UK national anthem. One fan called for an end to the situation, stating that Prince Harry does not officially represent the United Kingdom or the crown.

Another fan noted their lack of singing or acknowledgment, questioning why Nigeria would play the UK's national anthem for a private citizen who betrayed his own country and turned his back on the crown. Harry's refusal to wear his father's coronation medal was also mentioned.

During the event, Harry and Meghan appeared to decline partaking in the food offered. At times, the lunch descended into chaos with a disco beat playing in the background. When the customary dance began, Harry and Meghan declined the invitation to dance with the guests, displaying a lack of respect for local customs and traditions. The hosts, two ladies dressed in vibrant traditional attire, attempted to dance with both Harry and Meghan, but Harry engaged in conversation with a military gentleman instead. Meghan seemed uncomfortable, likely due to her narcissistic tendencies and limitations.

Her lack of emotional empathy and failure to fit in with local traditions and show respect were evident. Instead of participating in the customary dance as a sign of respect, even if lacking in dancing skills, Meghan chose to be rude rather than attempting a simple dance. Her belief that she was an accomplished dancer further highlighted her lack of understanding and respect for Nigerian customs.

Despite claiming an affiliation with the country, Meghan's actions demonstrated a limited knowledge beyond using it as an opportunity for personal gain. Her focus remained on asserting control, drawing attention from the populace, and creating footage for financial gain.

Once again, her rudeness and narcissism caused problems, undermining any genuine connection with Nigeria. For the event, Meghan wore a shoulderless St Agy full-length white dress, which was deemed unsuitable for a Muslim country.

Her obliviousness to cultural norms may pass as naivety for a regular traveler, but as a participant in a semi-official visit upon the military's invitation, different expectations arise. The primary guideline should be to honor the religious and cultural practices of the host nation.

Alternatively, it is possible that Meghan perceives her wardrobe choices as a feminist declaration, asserting her right as a woman to dress as she pleases. However, such juvenile feminist notions align with her usual approach.
