Prince Harry Haunted by Threats to His Security and Protection

 

Prince Harry is preparing to challenge the High Court's decision denying him taxpayer-funded security, a move that has garnered public sympathy amid concerns about his safety. 

The Duke of Sussex expressed disappointment over the lack of protection from the Home Office, which has resonated with the public following similar concerns faced by his late mother, Princess Diana.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams discussed Harry's decision to appeal the High Court ruling with The Mirror, noting the challenges ahead. "His attempt to personally finance additional police protection would create a two-tier system, which the court has understandably rejected," Fitzwilliams explained.

"However, Harry's concerns are deeply rooted in the tragic events involving his mother, compounded by current threats from far-right extremists. Securing full taxpayer-funded protection for individuals who are no longer full-time working royals will be an uphill battle. Yet, there is likely to be sympathy for his particular circumstances," Fitzwilliams continued.

He speculated on the possibility that Harry and his family could be categorized under 'Other VIP Category' for security considerations, but cautioned that the legal costs associated with his appeal would be substantial.

"The threat posed by far-right extremists and terrorists adds another layer of complexity to this case," Fitzwilliams added, highlighting the ongoing security concerns faced by Harry and his family.
