Two days ago, a video purportedly showing stranded travelers on Lagos-Benin expressway as armed robbers allegedly operated along the ever busying road surfaced online.
An unidentified man who recorded and shared the video online, claimed that himself and other travelers were stranded for over 30 minutes as armed robbers operated along the road without any police intervention. He claimed he personally called the police emergency number but there was no response.
Reacting to the video, ACP Abayomi Shogunle, said the claims made by the man is false as the video was recorded on an election day when all motorable roads were blocked.
''Man got caught up in the restriction of vehicular movement on Election Day. He did video of “Blockage by robbers along Lagos-Benin Expressway, no police response”. Story fact-checked by @PoliceNG_CRU via #CRU529060and discovered to be misinformation. Liars have a place in hell.
