Since leaving their senior royal duties, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have continued to make waves within the monarchy.
While their departure and subsequent interviews have stirred controversy, some public figures have praised Meghan's efforts to amplify important discussions.
Cynthia Bailey, former star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, recently spoke positively about Meghan's impact. "I think when you think about the royal family and hierarchy and being born into status and class, race has definitely played a part of that," Bailey noted.
"Being honest about it, I'm sure they the Royals never thought this discussion would be a part of their history. But the world is obviously evolving so quickly, and so now they do have a Meghan Markle, and she represents a portion of the African American community."
Bailey went on to commend Meghan for "vocalizing what was going on" and challenging the monarchy's race relations.
While Meghan's outspoken nature has ruffled feathers within the palace, Bailey sees her continued influence as a positive step. "The best is obviously still to come," she said, suggesting the Duchess of Sussex may have more surprises in store for the royal family in the years ahead.
